What kind of items do you sell?

Maddenda curates a selection of vintage furniture, home decor, lighting, and unique collectibles primarily from the 20th century. Its collection is shaped by diverse design movements, from the clean lines of Italian and Danish Modern to the unique character of Brutalist and Primitive styles. The items are eclectic, quality pieces that are destined to be timeless.

Where do you source your vintage items?

Pieces are carefully hand-picked from online marketplaces, estate sales, auctions, private collections, and trusted dealers in Canada, the United States and Europe. 

Are all your items truly vintage?

Most pieces are genuine vintage pieces, meaning they are 20 years or older. Some pieces are antique, meaning they are 100 years or older. We also sell pre-owned or newly handmade items that represent Maddenda’s aesthetic and possess its values (beauty, eclecticism, quality and sustainability). The item’s description on the website will include which category it falls into.

Do you offer appraisals or buy vintage items from individuals?

Maddenda does not offer appraisal services. However, if you have unique vintage items you're looking to sell, please contact us with details and photos for consideration. Of particular interest are pieces:

• from the early to late 20th century. Specifically, art deco, mid-century modern, bauhaus and postmodern design styles, or;

• with unusual shapes and forms, or;

• that are unique and one-of-a-kind, or;

• with a story, or;

• made by local or newcomer artisans and makers.

How can I purchase items online?

You can browse Maddenda’s online collection and purchase items directly through the website. Simply add desired items to your cart and proceed to checkout.

What payment methods do you accept online

Maddenda accepts major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and Apple Pay and Google Pay for online purchases. Maddenda can also accept EFTs in CAD, USD, GBP and Euros.

How accurate are the product descriptions and photos online?

Maddenda strives for accuracy in all of its product descriptions and photos. Any significant wear, imperfections, or unique characteristics are noted in the product’s ‘additional information’ or in the product images. Please review all details and images carefully before purchasing. In some cases items can be 100 years old and naturally have wear associated with age.

Can I see an item in person if I've seen it online?

Yes, if an item is available at our physical location, you are welcome to view it in person by appointment at the Edmonton, Alberta location. Please contact beforehand to confirm availability.

Maddenda does not offer repair or restoration services for customer-owned items. However, Maddenda can often recommend trusted local professionals who specialize in vintage furniture restoration.

Returns & Exchanges

What is your return/exchange policy?

Maddenda does not offer returns. All vintage items are FINAL SALE. Maddenda encourages customers to carefully inspect items before purchase, both online and in-store.
