Lovely pair of octagonal shaped Chinese pedestals (large and small). Both depict a painted scene of four women in traditional Chinese attire. The sides of the tables are covered with Chinese calligraphy from the “Preface to the Poems Collected from the Orchid Pavilion”, a work by the renowned calligrapher Wang Xizhi from the Easter Jin dynasty. The bottoms of the pedestals are wrapped in a gilded gold flower motif
